Fossil Beach Mornington VIC

I had so much fun fossil hunting here! There are plenty of cool rocks and fossil patterns and prints to look for, it's definitely a great place to go for a relaxing trip. I also recommend that you take lots of photos of your findings before placing the fossils back where you found them as you shouldn't remove anything from the beach.

Visited today hoping i'd find a few fossils.. what i found instead was the whole beach badly polluted in rubbish and several dead fish that had been tangled amogst it. Not one square metre of the beach was clean from rubbish. I spent 3 hours picking up every bit of rubbish that i could see along a 30m stretch, i obviously had to stop at one point after collecting more rubbish than i could carry. Hundreds of straws.. please take a spare poo bag with you and fill it with rubbish. I live 8 hours away and visited during my travels, very sad to see that i had the time to spare to help clean the beach but no locals do. Several locals even came and sat down and watched me fill a bag of rubbish, didn't think to help. All it takes is one person to make a difference. Do better.
